East Asian Medicine

East Asian Medicine is a medical system that has been used for thousands of years to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. It is based on the belief that qi (the body’s vital energy) flows along meridians (channels) in the body and keeps a person’s spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health in balance.

Some practitioners practice only acupuncture, not other modalities of East Asian Medicine such as Tui na or cupping, so we have kept East Asian Medicine and Acupuncture separate although they are intrinsically connected. Practitioners who work with multiple healing modalities within East Asian Medicine (including Acupuncture) should select both disciplines when applying to be a member Practitioner.
